Frequently asked questions
What is an ORIGAMECO card?
ORIGAMECO cards are unique paper artworks with intricately cut designs. Each card features a sturdy ivory white paper frame with detailed cutouts that come to life when backlit. A hidden translucent vellum layer adds depth and creates a soft glow, while the heavyweight paper feels substantial and pleasant to touch.
It took us 2 years and over 250 design iterations to perfect every fold, material choice, and cut — resulting in a card that feels as special as the moment it celebrates.
Are the cards ready to use or do I need to assemble them?
All cards arrive fully assembled and ready to gift or display. Each card is protected in a sealed plastic sleeve. Please note that no light source is included, but the card looks beautiful in ambient light alone — no special equipment needed.
Can I write a message on the card?
Absolutely! The outer paper frame is made from heavyweight ivory white cardstock that holds ink and paint beautifully without feathering. You can also write your greeting on the inner translucent vellum layer. For more practical tips and ideas, check out the Personalization section.
How long does shipping take? Is it free?
Shipping is free. Orders ship within 1-2 business days via International Air Mail — delivered directly to your mailbox with no customs fees. Most orders arrive in 5-10 business days. See the Shipping section for more information.
Can I personalize or customize my card?
Absolutely! Following the principles of kirigami art, we don't use any glue in our cards, which means you can disassemble and reassemble your ORIGAMECO as many times as you want. The outer paper structure is made from sturdy ivory white cardstock that holds ink and paint beautifully without feathering — markers, pencils, watercolors, and acrylics all work well. We also highly recommend replacing the inner vellum layer with colored translucent paper, plastic light filters, or even glow-in-the-dark materials for creative effects. For detailed tips and ideas, visit the Personalization section.
Where are ORIGAMECO cards manufactured?
Crafted in Estonia with love. We don't outsource any part of our work—from the first design drafts to the final cards, every ORIGAMECO is entirely handmade by us, a small family business in Northern Europe. It took us 2 years and over 250 design iterations to perfect every fold, material choice, and cut.
